Apr 17 2018 Astilbe will not flower for the whole of the summer. I love the red astilbe I have. The plumes remain in flower for several weeks and continue to look good as they fade and dry on the plant. Also the Astilbes frilly delicate foliage blends perfectly among lacy verdant ferns. The other did not bloom at all this year. Most plants will give a show in the latter part of the summer.
